Hello Ladies
How are you? I'm having a FREE weekend, both my men are in the UK for a short trip. How about that!! So far, I've done some flower pots on the balcony, read a lot, watched some DVDs, had an awesome long bath and read some more. Other than that, I did fanny adams!! I'm feeling fabulous... OK, I admit, I do miss little man a bit, but I guess I'll be really happy to see them again tomorrow and will be much better for it
Enjoy the weekend!!
So, back from a week skiing holiday! Hubby didn't join us. He doesn't like skiing and (more of a deciding factor) it was a whole week organised by a belgian organisation, with a hotel which has only belgian guests, belgian staff, belgian food, ... My parents and my brother and his family were also there. The little ones spoke only Flemish for a whole week, spend a lot of time with their 3 little cousins and made lots of friends. The twins also got to ski on the big slopes !

@katreseke: congratulations on the passport and the house. What's the house like? Will you move soon? Is it in the same village where you live now? I'm curious
Sorry to answer so late kara. The house is free standing, has quite a big garden with a natural pond (no fish, lots of frogs to be expected though). It's in the same village where we live now and we'll move end of mai. Lots of stress to be expected because of the renovations we have to do. Since that involves opening up the roof and since we are already a bit behind schedule, we are joking that we have to buy a big tent. Then we can camp in the garden when the roof isn't finished by the time we have to move in
back at work feeling quite rough... hubby and me were in Lucerne at the weekend. Little one spent a couple of days with Nani.
@mrs bee
I envy you...haven't had a weekend for myself for a loooong time. But I have to admit a weekend with hubby is nice too. just not as relaxing

@mrs.bee: sounds like you know what to do with your free time.
@ katreseke: hope it all works out with the roof. Are you going to convert the attic then? We've still not done it, but it would make sense.
Feels like I'm quite busy at the moment. Boy has another of his clingy times. He cried when I wanted to drop him off at music school. I hoe he'll get over it soon.
@Kara: we are not converting an attic. The house has no attic , since the rooms are under the roof themselves. Unfortunately, the outside wall (where the roof is at its lowest) is only 1 meter high. That means that I can only stand up straight in the first half of the rooms (and I am not tall at all). Hubby (very tall) can only stand in the beginning of the rooms. So we have to install huge "Lukarnen", so that my hubby can stand in the rooms and can get up from his bed without hitting his head on the ceiling. Also: the bathroom is TINY and we have to enlarge it. THe only way to do that is to open up the outside wall and add a sort of "floating" bathroom. Half the bathroom will be "inside the house", the other half will be floating so to speak. So lots of work (and lots of money) just to be able to stand in the bedrooms and to be able to stand with more than 1 person in the bathroom.
Sounds very intriguing... do you know the programme "Grand Designs"? Maybe you can subscribe your house there too. Hope you're not going to install glass walls in the bathroom. Very airy and bright, but I'm not sure it's quite the ticket
Us: we have a new word: Fowler. It's the thing that's all colourful on the plants
Can't do flowers yet...still snow laying on the grass. although my daffodils are stretching slowly but surely on the balcony...

Aaaah, I see Can't say I blame you. But you should be used to it, no? Did you grow up in the mountains? For me that sounds awful, I'm sorry. Love to LOOK at mountains, but couldn't live there. Sea: Yessss!! Mountains: Nooooo!
Yeah grew up here. for kids its great i enjoyed the snow when i was little. but now its just awful. no not awful, i still like it. i love it when its snowing, so peaceful...when the sun shines in the snow - gorgeous. but when there's too much like this year, i dont like it anymore. even the mountains dont bother me. its the missing infrastructure...if you're not into sports or farming, there's nothing to do...unlesr i travel an hour to chur or davos but 15 min more i could be in zurich. ridiculous isnt it.
i have to say the local hospital is a big plus.
anyway i gotta sleep.. night night!

Boy's keping me awake. He's got a high temperature once more and he's keeing me awake. We're now watching some recorded children's programmes:twisted:
@ katreseke: your house project sounds very interesting. You seem to be on a tight schedule, though. Do you still need to apply for planning permission or was that part of the contract?
@ eva-christina: I can fully appreciate how it feels. It brings back childhood memories
